What is a read file (stock file)?
A read file is a copy of the factory calibration pulled from your truck's ECM with your tuning device (HP Tuners, EFI Live, etc.). We modify that exact file for your truck instead of flashing a generic calibration, which is why most platforms require you to upload one after purchase.
Do EZ Lynk orders need a read file?
Usually not. We maintain base files for supported EZ Lynk applications, so most EZ Lynk orders only need your VIN, ECM calibration number and mod list. If we do need anything extra, we'll reach out through your order.
What information do you need for a tune?
VIN, ECM operating-system/calibration number, year/make/model/engine/transmission, your current modifications, and what you want out of the tune. The guided questionnaire after checkout walks you through all of it.
How many revisions are included?
Tune orders include 3 revisions within 30 days so we can dial the file in for your truck. The full policy — including when the window starts and fees for revisions beyond that — is on the tune revision policy page.
How long does a tune take?
Most tunes ship within 1–2 business days. Complex builds (large injectors, compound setups, transmission work) can take longer — we'd rather get it right than get it fast.
Which tuning platforms do you support?
HP Tuners, EZ Lynk, EFI Live, Calterm, WinFlash/SIS, bench/BIN work and WinOLS. If you're not sure which platform fits your truck, contact us before ordering and we'll point you in the right direction.
Will a tune void my warranty?
It can. Modifying your calibration may affect your factory powertrain warranty, and dealerships can detect tuned ECMs. If your truck is under warranty, weigh that before ordering — we're happy to talk through it.
Are your tunes emissions-legal?
SDPI builds calibrations for the emissions configuration you report and applicable regulations. It is your responsibility to keep your vehicle compliant with federal, state and local emissions laws. If you have questions about what's legal for your application, ask before you buy.
How is my tune delivered?
Through your SDPI account. When your calibration is ready you'll get an email notification and a secure download in your order — no chasing attachments through an inbox.
How does shipping work for parts?
Physical parts ship via FedEx or UPS, and shipping is calculated at checkout. Oversized items like full exhaust kits ship as freight. Details are on the shipping policy page.
